Born in 1979, RD has been writing and recording music since the age of 14. At 21, he left his hometown of San Diego, California, for Boston, Massachusetts, and founded the Lakeside Project, an experimental rock outfit focusing mainly on instrumentals. Later back in California, RD worked with a string of musicians in the San Francisco Bay area (including John Poe and Tracy Hui), released a 7" record (Big Spoon Record's OPPOLS OND BONONOS), and started work on what is becoming ANGSTY TEENS AND DRAG QUEENS.

Opting for a complete change of environment to finish the record, RD moved to Hamburg, Germany, in the winter of 2010. Playing at coffee houses and open mics for the first half of the year, he eventually met Takeo Marquardt, who instantly offered to become RD's drummer. Together they are crafting the songs that make up AT&DQ at Day Off Studios in Hamburg.

Excited by music that is challenging and obtuse, RD's music tends towards the awkward and trashy, with comparisons to Iggy Pop, Velvet Underground, Guided by Voices, and the Pixies. Polarizing audiences, reactions RD's records range from "I don't understand it" to "Fucking brilliant."

In addition to making music, RD curates a tumblr-blog, OBCOM/AR, as well as a portfolio of written work, MY BEST POT STORIES. Polaroids and other photographic experiments are posted on Flickr, while self-published photo/prose books are available through his Blurb homepage. Video day-dreams and nightmares are posted on YouTube as 10 minute episodal culture-jammed vignettes.

ANGSTY TEENS AND DRAG QUEENS is being released on-line through out 2010. MP3s will be available through the RDMAUZY.COM homepage, as well as Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook.
